In recent years, UniBank has donated nearly $750,000 annually to local non-profit organizations. Through these various donations, UniBank hopes to strengthen vital organizations that provide essential services and support to customers where they live.
“These are especially challenging times for non-profit organizations that give back to the community in countless ways,” said Michael Welch, Chief Executive Officer for UniBank. “We are incredibly proud to provide support to nearly 30 different nonprofits that the Blackstone Valley and Central Massachusetts rely on for many basic needs. Giving back is central to our mission, and our customers and partners can count on us to be there for them in the future.”
This includes a donation to 15-40 Connection, a Westborough-based organization dedicated to teaching people how to detect cancer at an early stage, saving the lives of many across the Commonwealth and the country. This donation is helping to fund more education and more outreach, empowering people everywhere with the knowledge of early detection.
“Through Unibank’s generosity, 15-40 Connection was able to bring the lifesaving advantage our education provides to firefighters in the UniBank community. This year, we are also excited about the impact made educating the UniBank team,” said 15-40 Connection Founder and Chief Volunteer, Jim Coghlin, Sr.
UniBank also donated to more than twenty other organizations including:
Milford Area Humanitarian Coalition, the Daniels Farmstead Foundation, Lakeville Arts Council, Worcester Chamber Music Society, Worcester Educational Development Foundation, Milford Area Chamber of Commerce, Whitinsville Social Library for Kids, Worcester State Foundation, Blackstone Valley Chamber, Blackstone Valley Boys & Girls Club, Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra, Massachusetts Small Business Development Center, Blackstone Valley Vocational Regional School District, United Parish of Upton, Grafton Lions Club, UMASS Cancer Walk, Girls on the Run, Central MA Agency on Aging, Central MA Housing Alliance, Worcester Community Action Council, Dress for Success, India Society of Worcester, Worcester Jewish Community Center, St. Joan of Arc, African Community Education, and YWCA.
