MA gas prices rise two cents

Gas prices in Massachusetts rose two cents from last week, according to the latest survey from AAA Northeast.

AAA’s July 9 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.86 per gallon.

“Demand for gasoline this summer has remained strong and pump prices have been relatively stable. Motorists should be mindful of the fact that hurricane season is underway, and storm-related supply issues could translate into higher prices,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.

The Massachusetts price is the same as the national average for regular unleaded of $2.86.

A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 69 cents lower at $2.17.

Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

Self Serve                                           Grade

$2.86 ($2.72-$2.99)                            Regular Unleaded

$3.12 ($2.95-$3.29)                            Midgrade Unleaded

$3.29 ($3.05-$3.49)                            Premium Unleaded

$3.22 ($3.05-$3.39)                            Diesel
