Whether for transportation or for sheer joy, automobiles and car culture have become pervasive in our culture to the point that most can’t live without one.

While most citizens throughout the world own a car – 253.6 million vehicles were registered in the United States in 2012 alone, according to the Federal Highway Administration – people select their cars for a wide variety of reasons including, fuel economy, comfort, speed, or style.

What kind of car do you drive?

“I drive a 2007 Ford Escape, which I bought in March 2013.”

What do you like about it?

“It is comfortable, easy to drive, and its four-wheel drive, which is perfect for Worcester hills during Central Massachusetts winters!”

Are you a point A to point B type of driver or are you someone who very much enjoys driving around? Where are some of your favorite places to drive?

“Point A to Point B is fine for me. My favorite places to drive are Cape Cod, Maine and Vermont.”

When driving, what are some of your favorite things to listen to?

“I listen to almost entirely radio. Around Worcester, I listen most frequently to WORC, WCRN and WTAG. When I am commuting south of Worcester I listen to a small, low-wattage station based in Dudley: WXRB.”

What is your first or favorite vehicle memory? 

“My parents took me on a six-week cross-country trip when I was 12 years old. That was an enjoyable - and highly educational - experience that I will never forget!”
