slides: ALPHA MALE: 3 Looks Using This Spring’s Biggest Trends

Wednesday, May 01, 2013

A couple months back, we discussed the Spring '13 trends that were apparent for menswear collections. I suggested several themes that seemed prevalent, specifically- washed out and bright colors, lighter and versatile layers, and bags for all occasions. I often get asked by customers how to piece them together for a look or style they are trying to achieve. I would like to expand on the topic and share with you some looks, courtesy of our Spring Retail Look Book, that incorporate this season's prominent styes into your wardrobe as the weather gets warmer this season and can take you from work to a social gathering and through the weekend.

Lighten Up Your Business Attire

One area I did not talk about much for this Spring was how to look cool in a suit and tie for your day job even when the weather gets warm. A lot of guys are used to enduring even through the hotter months in their worsted wool or “9-month suit”. And while it is great to own a couple of versatile suits that ground your look and are appropriate most of the year, do not be afraid to lighten up for Spring and Summer when the wool just will not do. Cotton or linen suits now come in a variety of colors and styles to help you not have to sweat the details- or the sun- when your job requires you stay suited up.
