1) it is always better to go dark by adding lowlights into your lighter color as not to shock.
2) Another fun way to go deeper is to try semi-permanent colors; which last 4 weeks, and then will fade out to your previous color.
3) Another way is to try wigs to see which shade or tone matches your skin tone best. Remember, you will have to alter your makeup as well! You will not be able to get away with your summer makeup on darker hair in the winter.
