Made to Make Up
Jessica, a regional makeup artist for Laura Mercier, StyleWeek’s cosmetic sponsor, feels she was born to do the work she does. “I was just born that way. At a young age, I imagined myself painting faces and now it’s a reality.”
Jessica enjoys making women feel beautiful and does so with her makeup artistry at store events and working at Providence Pinups, a go-to location for women to get dolled up to look like old school pin up models, founded and run by owner Lulu Locks. She also does special events and bridal so becoming Artistic Director for Styleweek was a natural transition.
What to Expect
“StyleWeek is like summer camp for makeup artists,” says Jessica. “I get to collaborate with the designers on their vision and what they want to express with hair and makeup. It’s an interesting process because designers think in fabric and makeup artists think in pigment.” For the weeklong runway events, Jessica created fourteen makeup looks and trained a team of artists to carry out her vision, using all Laura Mercier products. “You’ll see some deep lips, a lot of texture, some sheen colors; we’re utilizing the Laura Mercier Shimmer Blocs quite frequently.”
“My goal for StyleWeek is to make the designers’ visions a reality and that’s the reason I got into this business. I get the opportunity everyday to make someone’s dreams come true.”
