David Brooks will be one of the speakers in the series
Calvin College, an award winning January lecture series is coming to Whitinsville. Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church will be turned into one of 48 remote webcast locations all over the world to broadcast one of the nation's leading lecture and cultural arts series.
“At Calvin, we teach students to think deeply, to live wholeheartedly and to live into justice. That’s exactly what we do through the January Series, too. As we listen to the wide range of speakers each year we are challenged to wonder and think courageously and sometimes that also means we are stretched in new ways. As people of faith we should be using the brain God has given us to think well and always be learning about the world we live in," said Kristi Potter, director of the January series.
The Speakers
This year's guest speakers including political commentator David Brooks, senior fellow for Global Health Laurie Garrett, security expert Eric O'Neill, and psychologist Bethany Haley Williams.
The sparks will be discussing foreign affairs, global health, interfaith cooperation, autism and cyber security.
