Bank RI’s Giving Tree Wraps Up Great Season

Thursday, December 23, 2010

Bank Rhode Island (BankRI) announced today that it has completed another successful campaign with the annual BankRI Holiday Giving Tree program. The program is designed to brighten the holidays of fellow Rhode Islanders in need during the holiday season.

All seventeen BankRI branches along with the BankRI Corporate Office and the Lincoln Operations Center partnered with local non-profit organizations, which provided the branches with the names and wish lists of individuals served by their organization. These were displayed on the Holiday Giving Tree at each location, and BankRI customers and employees provided gifts.

Local non-profit organizations who partnered with BankRI include Adoption Rhode Island, Aids Care Ocean State, Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket, Connecting for Children and Families, Crossroads North Kingstown, East Bay Community Action, Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center, Family Resources Community Action, House of Hope, SSTARBIRTH, and Tri-Town Community Action Agency.

“Through the generosity of our customers and employees with the Holiday Giving Tree program we were able to help provide a merrier holiday season for members of our community,” said BankRI President and CEO Merrill Sherman.  “There are many people in need especially during the holidays and these tough economic times. We are pleased that we were able to assist in some way this season.”
