Biochemists and Biophysicists Most Unique Jobs to MA

There are more than five times the amount of biochemists and biophysicists in Massachusetts than the national average. According to analysis of Bureau of Labor statistics by PewTrusts.org, there are 3,850 biochemists and biophysicists in the Commonwealth.

According to the report, "the numbers show that in many cases state reputations for certain industries are well-earned and supported by employment data." 

For the surrounding states in New England, these are the most unique jobs:

  • Rhode Island - 7.7 times more Textile Bleaching and Dying Machine Operators (310 total)
  • Connecticut - 5.2 times more Acctuaries (1,280 total)
  • New Hampshire - 11. 8 times more Metal Workers and Plastic Workers (1,230 total)
  • Vermont - 9.4 times more Furniture Finishers (310 total)
  • Maine - 11.2 times more Logging Equipment Operators (1,200 total)
