Central MA Bank Donates $1,000 to Southbridge Cops N Kids Program

Friday, September 05, 2014

Savers Bank in Southbridge has announced that they have donated $1,000 to the Southbridge Cops N Kids Program, which will help to fund their upcoming Runway Car Show on September 13th, 2014.

The Runway Car Show will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 13th, 2014 at the Southbridge Airport. Entertainment includes dunk-a-cop, burnouts, live music, food, and vendors, and admission is only $5. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is September 14th, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“It has been amazing to see what the Cops N Kids program has done for our community,” said Joseph Coderre, president and CEO of Savers Bank. “It benefits everyone when the town thrives, so of course we wanted to contribute. It’s what we do differently as a bank to stand out from national chains. We’re very community oriented and our customers are names, not numbers.”

Cops N Kids is a non-profit that was started 20 years ago by Officer Jesus Rosa and is currently run by the Southbridge Police Department. The non-profit works with youth to help lower juvenile delinquency in the town, which has dropped 85-percent over the past seven years.

All of the proceeds from the Runway Car Show will go towards the program and helping to provide meals and a safe space for the kids involved.
