Chamber of Commerce Announces Reception for StartUp Worcester Winners

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

A reception will be held next month to announce the twelve winners of StartUp Worcester. With the help of Higher Education - the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, Venture Forum and Running Start - the twelve entrepreneurs will get to work on their startups.

According to the Chamber of Commerce, some of the business startups include digital game developers, an app that connects the college community, a bio-tech company integrating technology into food production; an idea for sustainable energy, water, and food for small island communities; and a tech company looking to leverage existing infrastructure to increase the effectiveness of transportation systems.

“The goal is to retain these bright, young entrepreneurs and encourage them to grow their business here – in Worcester – where they will soon learn that they have access to everything they need to succeed, including a well-educated and trained workforce,” said Timothy Murray, the President and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The event will be held on May 7 from 4 to 6 PM at Running Start at 95 Prescott Street in Worcester.
