Fully Digital

GoLocal24, a new digital media model delivering local news and information to mid-markets, announced that it would launch its second market on February 15, 2012.

The second news site – GoLocalWorcester.com – will focus on providing Central Massachusetts superior news and information.

The digital platform will feature some of the most respected names in Massachusetts media and politics. Natalie Jacobson, the iconic news anchor formerly of Boston’s WCVB-5, serves as GoLocalWorcester’s Executive News Editor.

“We are so excited to launch in Worcester – the response has been incredible. It is a city that is transforming – restaurants, the colleges, bioscience firms, and the arts,” said Josh Fenton, Co-Founder and CEO of GoLocal24 – the parent company of GoLocalWorcester.com. “Our goal is to bring the highest value of content to Central Massachusetts. Content that educates, excites and enhances readers’ lives.”

GoLocal’s Sports team will be unmatched. GoLocalWorcester will feature Bob Lobel as a columnist – the Boston sportscaster who has covered everything from Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots, as well as national broadcasting for a range of top level teams and events including the NCAA Basketball Tournament and NFL football.

“With Bob Lobel teamed with Scott Cordischi and John Rooke, we believe we have many of the top talent in New England covering sports,” said Fenton.

Beyond the news staff – GoLocalWorcester.com features the most impressive array of political and policy views delivered by columnists, titled MINDSETTERS™.

GoLocalWorcester.com’s MINDSETTERS™ include:

Bill Delahunt, former U.S. Congressman (D-MA)

Cong. Bill Delahunt

“GoLocal24’s business model aligns with how consumers live their lives. They seek high value content. They live online, on tablets and on mobile,” said Josh Fenton.
GoLocalWorcester.com is located on Main Street inside Worcester’s Mechanics Hall Building – a true Worcester landmark. Combined between the news staff, MINDSETTERS™, contributors and the GoLocalTV team, more than 35 people contribute to the GoLocalWorcester site weekly.
