Largest Bike-Sharing Platform in World to Launch in Worcester

ofo to launch in Worcester

The largest station-free bike-sharing platform in the world, ofo, is set to launch in Worcester.

The launch event will take place on Thursday, September 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Worcester Common.

“ofo identified Worcester as a city with a tremendous amount of potential for their station-free bike-sharing model and has worked closely with the Worcester Chamber of Commerce. The global company is looking to expand to surrounding cities in the broader Boston area soon,” said ofo in their press release.

The Worcester launch comes a week after ofo made their North American debut last month in Seattle.

The event will begin with remarks from Worcester City Manager Edward Augustus,  Chamber of Commerce President Timothy Murray and ofo's Grace Lin.

Following a ribbon cutting, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a group ride downtown using ofo's bright yellow bikes.

The Phantom Gourmet Food Festival is an event to look forward too and it will be held on September 12 from 12- 4 p.m. on two streets next to Fenway Park.

Tickets are $40 in advance and online and will go up to $50 at the event.

The ticket includes sampling 100 of Phantom's foods from hot dogs and pizza to pulled pork and more. Beer and wine will be served on the street.
