The Executive office of Labor and Workforce development announced that estimates from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that Massachusetts has added 1,200 jobs in the month of October. Bringing the total number of jobs to 3,434,600 while the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 6.0 percent.
Since October of 2013, Mass has added 52,600 jobs and 50,400 jobs in the private sector. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate has dropped 1.2 percent from the October of 2013 rate of 7.2 percent.
The October 2014 unemployment overview has Information gaining the most jobs with 1,900 while trade, transportation and utilities have lost the most jobs, losing 1,800 jobs.
The local area unemployment statistics for October 2014 will be released on Tuesday, November 25th.
