NEW: Auburn Chamber of Commerce to Offer $13K in Scholarships

The Auburn Chamber of Commerce has announced two types scholarships that are being offered to graduating high school students who reside in town of Auburn.

The Academic Scholarship will awarded to a student continuing their education in an accredited post-secondary school.

The Career-Trade Scholarship will awarded to a student who is going into a trade. Scholarship funds will be received solely for the purchase of tools for the trade.

All told, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce will be offering $13,000 in scholarships.

Resident scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, community/school involvement, financial need, essay responses, and a potential interview with members of the Auburn Chamber’s School/Business Partnership Committee. Chamber will award up to $8,000 in scholarships to Auburn residents.

Additional Scholarships will be awarded to an Auburn Chamber Member and/or their employees who have a senior student continuing their education in an accredited post secondary school. Chamber member scholarship applicants are not required to reside in the town of Auburn. The Chamber has increased their award to “up to” $5,000 in scholarships to children of its members.

Scholarship criteria and applications for Auburn residents are available in the guidance offices of their respective schools as well as online at the Chamber's website.

The deadline for submitting applications to the Chamber is March 1, 2013.

The Auburn Chamber has awarded $248,000 in scholarships since 1975.
