NEW: Gas Prices Down One Cent

Monday, March 21, 2011

Gas prices dropped a penny this week, marking the first local price decrease since late January, according to AAA Southern New England.

A March 21 survey found the current average for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $3.55 per gallon, down one cent from last week, but still forty cents higher than at the start of 2011 and seventy seven cents higher than at this time last year. Prices ranged from $3.44 to $3.62.

$3.34 per gallon was the national average.
