NEW: JetBlue CEO Barger Will Speak at Central Mass Business Expo

JetBlue CEO Dave Barger will deliver the keynote address at the Central Mass Business Expo in October.

The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced that Dave Barger, President and CEO of JetBlue, as a keynote speaker at the Central Mass Business Expo slated to be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the DCU Center in Worcester. He is scheduled to speak at approximately 4:30 pm. His talk will be followed immediately by a networking event. Mr. Barger founded JetBlue in 1998 as President and Chief Operating Officer, and was named Chief Executive Officer in May 2007.

In its 27th year, the Chamber’s Expo promises a full day of activity including other keynote speakers, exhibitors from across the region, seminars, live radio broadcasts, a luncheon, and a networking event.

JetBlue announced their arrival in Worcester last April with fanfare as Mr. Barger flew in to Worcester Regional Airport amid a marching band and appreciative business and leisure travelers. JetBlue flights will begin out of Worcester Regional Airport (ORH) on November 8 with daily flights to Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando with connecting flights to San Juan, PR, and the Caribbean.

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Dave Barger leads JetBlue's charge to inspire humanity and establish JetBlue as a new standard in the airline industry for service, performance and innovation. JetBlue began operations in February 2000 from its base at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and serves 76 destinations across the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America.

JetBlue’s 182-aircraft fleet is comprised of Airbus A320 and EMBRAER 190 models, with an order for 73 additional aircraft through 2018 that includes 30 Airbus A321 aircraft. JetBlue plans to take delivery of 40 Airbus A320neos (new engine option) between 2018 and 2021. operations in February 2000 from its base at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and serves 76 destinations across the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America.
