State Continues to Offer Free Consulting to Local Businesses

Saturday, December 04, 2010

Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) are teaming up again to sponsor two free workshops in December to help small businesses succeed in today's economy. The workshops, featuring specialized consultants, will present the keys to effective networking and product branding.

The workshops are offered as part of a larger initiative called "We Mean Business," a joint venture between the Secretary of State and RIEDC's Every Company Counts initiative. "These workshops are part of a series that focuses on issues crucial to small businesses in Rhode Island and the people who work with them. They reflect the real need of the Rhode Island business community," said Chris Barnett, spokesman for the Secretary of State.

Free Advice

The workshops are meant to provide a key service to local businesses by offering expert consulting for free. "These workshops are providing public access to free consulting services. They are making a big difference today, when people are really trying to balance their budgets."

We Mean Business has already offered a number of free workshops in November to help Rhode Island's small business and the turnout has been positive so far. "The response to our workshops has been outstanding. We've had more than 60 people attend them."

The initiative plans to continue offering workshops for the next year. For upcoming workshops sponsored by the ECC, visit www.everycompanycounts.com/events.
