SUCCEED WITH STYLE: A Definite Don’t this Holiday Break

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

The holiday break is almost here, which means we get a chance to escape the weekly grind and relax with family and friends. But wearing PJ pants in public? That’s taking “relaxation” to an entirely different level. Can someone please enlighten me on this trend? I get the fact that pajama pants are super comfortable. I have a few pairs myself. We all enjoy relaxing in them at home, especially during the holiday break.

But wearing PJs in public intentionally? When did this become acceptable? Every time I'm out, I see this look. I have seen it at the grocery store, the coffee shop and even at the mall. I simply don't get it. To me it screams "I'm lazy and I really just don't care".

It's just as easy for women to throw on a comfy sweater over a pair of jeggings or leggings or for men to throw on a pair of decent jeans and long sleeve T as it is to wear a sloppy outfit. Whether you like it or not, the way you represent yourself in public (even during the holidays) matters. So think twice before pulling boots over your PJs this Christmas break. You never know who you may run into!
