Tech Collective Taps Constellation Energy

RI's Information Technology and Bioscience Industry Association, Tech Collective, has tapped Constellation Energy (NYSE:CEG) to the the energy supplier for the trade group. Tech Collective works to foster these high-tech, high-wage industries by raising industry awareness and participation as well as through workforce development and community building initiatives.

“As energy consciousness continues to grow across the nation, Tech Collective is excited to add Constellation Energy as yet another dynamic and valuable resource to our Member Affinity and Discount Program,” said Kathie Shields, executive director of Tech Collective. “Constellation Energy is the leading energy supplier in the United States, and it has a proven record of providing both the energy management as well as education resources needed to help our technology companies get the best use of the variety of energies they rely on day in and day out. Constellation’s innovative and competitive energy approach and portfolio could bring a great benefit to our members.”

Accordinlgly, Constellation Energy will offer eligible Tech Collective members a complete portfolio of energy management products ranging from electricity supply to renewable energy certificates and demand response programs. These products could help members stabilize their energy budgets, reduce energy costs, improve facility operations, and advance sustainability goals.

“We are thrilled to work with Tech Collective to help educate members on the importance of an energy management strategy. We look forward to working with Tech Collective businesses to help develop energy buying strategies to meet their economic and sustainability goals,” said Emily Neill, regional vice president for Constellation NewEnergy in New England.

Constellation Energy and Tech Collective will be hosting an Energy Seminar breakfast event on Dec. 8, 2010 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the Hope Club in Providence, R.I. The seminar will provide an overview of the New England electricity market and detail Constellation’s energy offerings and benefits to the technology community, including load response, renewable energy, fixed pricing, and energy efficiency.
