Thursday, December 04, 2014
The garb comes from Massachusetts Cultural Council’s newest program SerHacer (To Be, To Make) which is a new Creative Youth Development program inspired by El Sistema model adapted by Venezuela and other countries worldwide.
The initiative seeks to support music making ensembles in the community to help children achieve and improve academically.
Neighborhood Strings is a free strings program currently run by WCMS in Worcester’s Main South neighborhood with the focus of forging strong relationships with urban youth in order to give them a creative outlet and hone lifelong leadership and disciplinary skills.
For more information on Neighborhood Strings please visit WCMS’s site or contact Tracy Kraus, Executive Director at 508- 217- 4450 x1.
