5 Spots for Upscale Thanksgiving Eve Cocktails in Worcester

Monday, November 19, 2012

Thanksgiving, with all the family and food that goes with it, is one of the most beloved holidays on America's calendar. But, if you're hosting, you know that there is no better time for a relaxing drink than Thanksgiving eve. Here are some of our favorite places to unwind with a fancy drink around Worcester. Just remember to enjoy responsibly, and we won't tell your in-laws where you ran off to the night before.

Ceres Bistro

Located inside the Beechwood Hotel, Ceres is both elegant and relaxed. For a refreshing and light sip, try a "Blood Cosmo" made with Double Cross vodka, St. Germain, fresh raspberries, squeezed blood orange juice and cranberry juice. Or enjoy Ceres' spin on a classic Manhattan.

Sweet

Sweet is known largely for its delicious desserts and specialty cakes, but you can satisfy your sweet tooth with one of their mouth-watering martinis as well. These new spins on classic cocktails cover pretty much all your dessert favorites. Try the Tiramisu martini made with vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, creme de cocoa, and Coopers Hilltop Farm cream.

One Eleven Chop House

One Eleven is known for having some of the best steaks in Worcester, but their bar boasts some of the more creative cocktails in the region. Sure, they make great classic martinis, but try one of their seasonal cocktails for something new and fresh. The Spiced Pumpkin Latte is still featured, and is made with Dutch Caramel vodka, pumpkin liqueur, Frangelico, vanilla extract, and topped with cinnamon and sugar sprinkles.

Still and Stir

While the Still and Stir features one of the most extensive cocktail lists in Central Mass, organized by liquor type, the true fun comes when you ask one of their talented bartenders to design a new cocktail just for you. But, if you don't like surprises, try a Jamaican Back-Flip made with Appleton Estate Reserve rum, Triple-Black simple syrup, egg yolk, lime, ginger beer and nutmeg.

The Citizen Wine Bar

Located right next to Still and Stir, the Citizen is one of Worcester's finest wine bars, but offers an excellent selection of cocktails as well. The Citizen offers a great Rum Punch if you want something refreshing, or you can have a Bottle-Aged Manhattan made with Old Overholt Rye, Martell VS Cognac, Carpano Antica and Angostura Bitters.
