Saturday, March 21, 2015
We’re all different. Our cravings and taste buds are unique. That’s okay. While some people can wake up and start crushing beers, others are surpassing you and dipping into their bottle of Fireball. It’s all relative and depends on the individual. It’s funny how alcohol affects your body’s system. You may drink, and drink, and drink, even when you’re not thirsty, but during the process, the body is drying out. This is the cause for your hangover. A great morning cocktail to rid of this hangover is for sure, The Bloody Mary. Now, Bloody Mary mix is an acquired taste. It’s tomato juice, with many added ingredients to create a spicier mix. Packed with replenishing vitamins from the tomato juice and celery, this cocktail is certainly a great morning cocktail is a great way to nurse your way back to normalcy.
Another classic morning cocktail is the Mimosa. You cannot go wrong with this drink! It’s quick and easy to make. By mixing up Champagne and Orange Juice, you are catching a buzz while receiving a dose of Vitamin C! Decent bottles of Champagne can be purchased for $12.00 or less, which make it a cheap, yet classy cocktail to whip up.
There you have it...good morning cocktails that just so happen to include what you would normally drink for breakfast! To sum things up, I would highly suggest a Bloody Mary, a Mimosa, or a White Russian.
Here are some ways to mix up these cocktails…
Bloody Mary: Try this cocktail with Citrus Vodka, Jalapeno Vodka, and believe it or not...BACON Vodka for a unique taste! Also, try and remember, the mix makes the drink. Experiment with your mix by adding Horseradish, Worcestershire Sauce, and/or Celery Salt.
The Mimosa: This two ingredient drink is quick to make. Orange Juice and Champagne is all you need. If you’re not a fan of Orange Juice, try adding other juices, like Cranberry or Grapefruit Juice. Added Raspberries or Strawberries are ways to garnish a glass for color.
White Russian: These frothy, creamy drinks can be enjoyed anytime. Whether it’s starting off your morning with them, or saving it for your dessert, you will not be disappointed. White Russians can be made with flavored vodkas as well. Any Whipped Cream, Marshmallow, Vanilla vodkas taste great in this drink. Try Blueberry Vodka in this cocktail for a delicious muffin-like treat!
