Ask a Bartender: Where are the Best Patio Bars in Worcester?
Sunday, September 06, 2015
Dive Bar – Walk through the bar to get to the spacious patio that has walls to keep unwanted neighbors out, but enough tables and chairs to bring everyone you want together. There are plenty of beer options to keep you going back to the bar if you need a break from the sun. It’s cash only so come prepared.
Compass Tavern – The Compass has a brand new patio equipped with a fully functioning bar. The windows open to the inside so you aren’t secluded from the live music during the week, or the DJ on the weekends. The Compass encourages cornhole on a separate section of the patio. See? You don’t need that lame Facebook invite to have fun outside.
Flying Rhino – Enjoy a nice meal and even better sangria while you take in the scents of Shrewsbury Street. You don’t need dessert when you have the aroma of freshly baked doughnuts and a cold drink in your hand. For brunch drinking I highly recommend the Pink Greyhound.
Padavano’s – Sit outside in the quite side yard and enjoy a glass of wine here this weekend. This is a great stop for dessert outside, even if it is just of the liquid variety.
Smokestack Urban Barbecue – At the bar or a long high-top table, Smokestack let’s you enjoy BBQ food outside, without doing any of the work. Enjoy an order of fried pickles and sip on a Georgia Peach.
Pam Martin bartends at Compass Tavern at 90 Harding Street in Worcester every Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
