Ask a Bartender: Which Fenway Park Bars are Best?

Another long-awaited baseball season is upon us, which gives everyone more reason than ever to flock to Fenway Park. Whether you are headed to the game, or just looking for a cold drink and a night out, Fenway is a great place to enjoy the warm weather – whenever it decides to get here. There is no shortage of great options for a good time, but here are just a few of the best spots you should try this season:

Bleacher Bar – The view certainly isn’t a downfall. Enjoy the view of the outfield during a game, even when it’s time for a bathroom break. Yes, they’ve gone as far as to build windows above the urinals so male fans (sorry ladies!) don’t miss anything. The food is good, the drinks are great, but the view is best.

Yardhouse – If you can’t find something you like here then you should probably just go home. Over 100 beers to choose from, but if that’s not enough, scan the pages of specialty drinks including mules, beer cocktails, and even sake. Sit in the dimly lit dining room, or enjoy the patio bar.

Loretta’s - Any day that starts with brunch is destined to be great. And many nights have ended with moonshine. The moonshine is available all week, but brunch is only on Saturday. The atmosphere is perfect those looking for a laid-back country feel.

Game On – Plenty to offer. Prime location. The menu is packed with great options, and the bar is stocked. Ample space, so you can feel free to wander downstairs and get all sorts of excited about ping pong. Home of Blazing Paddles, Game On will host Ninko’s Ping Pong Challenge on May 18, 2015. The challenge is presented by Celebrities for Charity, an organization co-founded by Ray Bourque.

Baseball Tavern – There are plenty of floors to choose from, but the rooftop is by far the best. Enjoy a few games of flip cup, or just relish in surviving an obnoxious amount of snow and hibernation this winter. The menu isn’t extensive, but it’ll do. If sunshine and temperatures over 70 degrees still aren’t in the forecast, enjoy the fun atmosphere inside, or stare at one of the HD TVs all night.

Pam Martin bartends at Compass Tavern at 90 Harding Street in Worcester every Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
