Great Places to Take Mom to Brunch

In a panic about where to take Mom for her special day?  GoLocalWorcester has you covered with some of our favorite places around Worcester County to take Mom out to brunch.

If supporting local farmers is something that Mom is into, then Armsby Abbey is the place to take her, but make your reservations early, since there are only nine tables, although additional outdoor seating is planned if the weather is nice. True to their commitment as localvores, Chef Tim Russo and owners Alex Lopez and Sherri Sadowski are planning their Mother’s Day Brunch menu with all of the best highlighting eggs, cheeses, yogurts and maple syrup from local farms. Suggested local brews, teas and coffees are paired with each menu selection.

Always a sure bet for a great brunch, The Beechwood Hotel’s Mother’s Day Brunch is planned to be an extra special event. Menu highlights include: Texas French toast with Vermont-made maple syrup, cheese blintzes smoked salmon, made-to-order omelets, malted waffles and French crepes with assorted toppings, three carving stations, a variety of desserts, and a complimentary bloody Mary, screwdriver, mimosa or glass of champagne.

A longtime staple in the Sunday brunch scene, Mother’s Day Brunch at Club Maxine’s is a wonderful treat for Mom. The chefs at Club Maxine are adding several special menu choices to go with their seven entrees, carving, omelet and salad stations, fruit, breads, juices and dessert station. Complimentary Mimosa or Bloody Mary.

Always a favorite for a good steak, Chuck’s will be opening at 10 am on Mother’s Day for a special brunch buffet that will rival its famous salad bar. Included are breakfast pastries, scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, sausage, French toast, roast turkey broiled haddock country ham with pineapple sauce and desserts galore.  Chuck’s will also be serving its dinner menu with some additional specials from 12 noon until 8 pm.

Its eclectic menu makes it a Shrewsbury Street favorite and Flying Rhino Cafe is hosting a special brunch that Mom is sure to love. In typical Flying Rhino fashion, the brunch menu features  typical brunch favorites, such as made to order omelets, carving stations for ham and roast beef, French toast, bacon and roasted potatoes as well as some special offerings including smoked salmon for the bagels, sashimi tuna cucumber bites, handmade crab rangoons and asparagus in ambush with lobster crème.  White chocolate croissant pudding for dessert and a complimentary mimosa, bloody Mary or glass of Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir are included.

Overlooking its scenic golf course, the Leicester Country Club’s Mother’s Day brunch is loaded with delicious choices from the carving, breakfast and omelet stations with raspberry white chocolate mousse and ice cream sundaes for children.

The Manor’s elegant brunch is a delight for Mom, and the kids are sure to enjoy the chocolate foundation (Mom will too!). In addition to the standard brunch fare, The Manor will also feature a raw bar with oysters, peel & eat shrimp and mussels, four carving stations and a variety of salads, vegetables and entrees.

One of the oldest individually owned restaurants in New England, The Old Mill’s rustic setting is part of its charm, and a great place for the whole family. Water rushes over the mill dam as scenic vistas are reflected in the mill pond. Always a feast, the Old Mill’s Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet will include breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees. Not to be missed are the fruit filled pancakes, homemade corn fritters, pecan rolls and make your own strawberry shortcake. Coffee, juice and champagne toast are included. After brunch, the kids will love to head to the creek and feed the ducks.

Welcoming weary and hungry travelers since the 18th Century, the Publick House is an ideal place to take Mom for brunch.
