NEW: Celtics Name Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard Official Team Wine

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

The Boston Celtics have named Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard as the official team wine, in a partnership announced today between the 17-time World Champions and the domestic, international-award winning wine producer in Rhode Island.

As part of the partnership, Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard will be the presenting partner of the Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard Owners Section in the Sun Life Courtside Club. All bar locations within the club are now sponsored by Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard and exclusive wine lockers will now be available for those who frequent Celtics’ home games.

“Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard’s dedication to crafting first class wines makes them the ideal partner for the Celtics brand and we are excited to have them on board as our first official wine,” Senior VP of Corporate Partnerships and Business Development Ted Dalton said. “They will help bring exclusive events to our season ticket holders and Sun Life Courtside Club members that will be fun and educational. We're looking forward to working with this great regional brand.”

"We are all about partnering with the best, and clearly the Boston Celtics are amongst the best franchises in all of sport," said Carolyn Rafaelian, proprietor of the vineyard. "My aim when I purchased the vineyard was to save and invest in this beautiful land and share it with as many people as possible. Our presence at TD Garden allows us to reach passionate, wonderful fellow New Englanders in an exciting sports environment."

As the official wine of the Boston Celtics, Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard will provide special opportunities for Celtics fans, including wine tasting events for season-ticket holders and guests.

The vineyard will be open for tastings, a variety of holiday case discount offers, as well as Carolyn’s Café serving food from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M.
