January is upon us and once again it is time for us local Wine Enthusiasts to make our annual pilgrimage to Mohegan Sun for the 13th annual Sun WineFest happening the weekend of January 29th, 30th and 31st.

This year’s Grand Tasting is truly grand! Featuring beer, wine, specialty spirits and delectable dishes, next weekend’s extravaganza has something for everyone. Wine and beer enthusiasts can select from over 1,000 brands or enjoy tastings of specialty spirits. Foodies can sample signature dishes from the region's most highly rated restaurants. The Main Culinary Stage is the backdrop for two days of celebrity chef demonstrations featuring Rocco DiSpirito, Chris Coombs, Govind Armstrong and Todd English, just to mention a few. For a full list of the featured chefs, click here.

Tickets remain on sale for Saturday and Sunday’s Grand Tasting but act fast as they are sure to sell out. The most extravagant way to attend the event is to purchase a ticket for Saturday’s ‘Elite Cru Tasting’. The Elite Cru Tasting is an extraordinary opportunity to discover the "best-of-the-best" vintages from around the world and to meet the winemakers behind the labels. This not-to-be-missed experience is offered to a limited audience in the intimate setting of The Cabaret Theatre and includes entry to Saturday’s Grand Tasting.

Or join the Celebrity Chef Dine Around on Saturday, January 30th at 8pm and watch Chefs Rocco DiSpirito and others top chefs prepare signature dishes at live cooking stations while enjoying the pairing of premium wine or beer to complement each dish.

At the 2016 Mohegan Sun WineFest there is truly something for everyone! If you are a Burbon Enthusiasts, for example, consider attending Friday’s Burbon Tasting. At this event you get to taste a variety of fine bourbons along with delectable hors d'oeuvres and a cigar sampling.
