Worcester’s 6 Best Places to Watch the Stanley Cup

Wednesday, June 06, 2012

You may not be able to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup, but there are plenty of other cups to grab at Worcester's best sports bars.

Thinking about catching game four of the Stanley Cup Finals out somewhere tonight? GoLocalWorcester has you covered with the six best sports bars in Worcester to take in the game.

Tweed’s Pub Restaurant

Tweed’s describes itself as “traditional pub fair with a New England twist,” and it backs that claim up with fresh lobster specials everyday. When you're not coming in to watch the Cup, stop in on Mondays 7-11pm for 25 cent wings, and half-price appetizers Monday through Friday, 4-6pm.

The Banner Bar and Grille

Gather around the Horseshoe bar to watch from one of nine plasma televisions. Come back for 10 cent wings every Monday night from 6-10pm, and 50 cent pizzas every Tuesday night from 6-10pm.

Jillian's

One of the best pool halls in all of Worcester, Jillian's also gives you a ton of huge TVs and projectors to take in the game. If your favorite team isn't in the Stanley Cup, challenge your friends to a game of air hockey and determine your own champion.

Peppercorn’s Grille and Tavern

This local staple has provided Worcester with hearty Italian food for over two generations. But don't let the Italian cuisine fool you, this is a great place to catch the game. If you want to come back for specials, enjoy half-price appetizers every weekday from 3-6:30pm, and 20 cent wings every Monday from 6-9:30pm. Be sure to check out their list of 40 different bottles of wine, each priced at $22.

The Center Bar and Grille

The Center Bar and Grille offers great food and drink during every game, but also caters to the work crowd big time. Once you've enjoyed some hockey here, come back with a work group of four or more and get a free pizza on any Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. If you’re stuck in the office on Saturday, get the same deal from Noon-6pm. Enjoy 10 cent wings Sunday and Monday nights.

Funky Murphy's Bar and Grill

Funky Murphy's is not your average Irish Pub. With live music or a DJ spinning 7 nights a week, there is fun available for everyone, even those that aren't Cup crazy. There isn't a bad seat in the house, because you will always be near one of their nine different 60' plasma TVs or two HD projectors.
