Saturday, February 18, 2012
“All of our Greek items are awesome. We have a lot traditional Greek dishes, a lot of Spanakopita, Moussaka, and Pastichio,” said Executive Chef Ethan Kramer. “We use only fresh ingredients.”
The item on the menu that gets the most rave reviews?
“Our lamb shank is definitely number 1,” said Kramer. The dish features braised lamb with tomatoes, onion, carrots, lemon, parsley &herbs, and is served with green beans and potatoes.
Zorba’s gourmet pizza menu ranges from the Great Greek, (Olive oil and garlic sauce, spinach, back olives, fresh tomatoes, onions, feta, fresh herbs, and house cheese blend), to the Seafood Pizza, (topped with scallops, shrimp lobster and the house cheese blend).
“Originally, my family got into pizza places before restaurants,” said restaurant partner Phil Dimopoulos. Dimopoulos’s mother, Nusa is the restaurant owner.
“We make our own dough, we make our own sauce, and our own pizza blend. Nothing is ever canned, everything is homemade,” said Dimopoulos.
Zorba’s interior is bright, clean and open, with a friendly and attentive wait staff. Leather booths and wooden high tops line the dining room, which seats 175. The hardwood floors are clean and polished, and the walls are painted a light, sunny shade that lends to its inviting atmosphere.
If you’re simply looking to watch the game or grab drinks with a few friends, the 35-seat island bar is fully stocked and features flat screen TVs.
Zorba’s serves lunch and dinner, and also does catering and take-out.
Kramer takes pride in the delight his dishes have caused so far.
“I get a lot of smiles out here,” he said, with one of his own.
