Children’s Museum Joins Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” Campaign

Active playtime at the Children's Museum

First Lady Michelle Obama has made solving childhood obesity a national priority, and the Providence Children’s Museum has joined the campaign.

The museum is a proud new member of “Let's Move!,” the comprehensive national initiative that encourages healthy eating and physical activity in children.  With 

active play an important part of children's healthy growth and development, the Museum is committed to offering interactive play and learning experiences that promote physical activity, and to providing parents with resources about nurturing kids' growth through play.

This fall, Museum visitors can join special “Let's Move, Let's Play!” programs each month plus explore the Museum’s environments with a new “Let’s Move!” physical activity sheet. Look for the following special activities this fall:

Upcoming “Let’s Move, Let’s Play!” Programs at Providence Children’s Museum

Hoopla! 
 September 3 - 5  •  9am - 6pm  
Kids twist, move and invent their own fun and games with hoops of all sizes and colors in the Museum’s Children's Garden all weekend long!


Jump In! 
 September 17 & 18  •  9am - 6pm  
Kids hop, skip and jump as they experiment with long ropes, short ropes, flat ropes, round ropes in the Museum’s Children's Garden.

Where In the Wild?
  September 24 & 25  •  9am - 6pm  
Get out and play, climb, crawl and discover in the Museum’s Children’s Garden and try fun-filled outdoor challenges.



Balloon Badminton  
Saturday, October 1 & 2  •  11am - 2pm  
Decorate rackets and keep a balloon bouncing back and forth in a fun-filled version of this active game.
