Rhode Islanders love their iced coffee, and it's a good thing.

The second Iced Coffee Day in RI and Bristol County, MA, generated a gift of $164,093 from Dunkin' Donuts, to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“Hasbro Children‘s Hospital has made a promise to each patient and family who walks through our doors to provide them with the best care possible,” said Timothy J. Babineau, M.D., president and CEO of Rhode Island Hospital. “For the second year now, Dunkin’ Donuts has helped us to keep that promise, and for that we are eternally grateful.”

All day long on May 25th, as the mercury edged toward the low 70s, participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants offered guests a medium (24 oz.) cup of the company’s famous Iced Coffee for just $1.00. Additionally, a small Iced Coffee was reduced to 75 cents and a large Iced Coffee was reduced to $1.50. The proceeds from sales of iced coffee that day were collected for Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“We are so thankful to our loyal customers for helping to make the second Iced Coffee Day to benefit Hasbro Children’s Hospital such a success,” said Joe Prazeres, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee.  “Hasbro Children’s Hospital is an invaluable organization in our community, and we are excited to see the additions to the hospital’s campus that will be made with this donation.”

This donation marks more than $650,000 in contributions that Dunkin’ Donuts has made to Hasbro Children’s Hospital over the years.

“I love iced coffee! We cannot thank Dunkin’ Donuts enough for what they have done,” said Robert Klein, M.D., pediatrician-in-chief of Hasbro Children’s Hospital. “The difference that this partnership makes can be seen in the faces of our young patients, who are able to receive the world class care they deserve because of gifts such as this.”
