Rivalry game and first place battle highlighted last weekend Boys ice hockey games - check out Hendricken vs LaSalle and Mount against Moses Brown.

Boys Hockey

Bishop Hendricken High vs LaSalle Academy (1/7):
Bishop Hendricken staged a late comeback against La Salle to earn a 3-3 draw in boys hockey, in the latest installment of this historic Rhode Island rivalry. After trailing 3-0 entering the final period, Hendricken scored 3 unanswered goals to force overtime, where neither team surrendered a score. Christopher Ryan had 22 saves in goal for La Salle and William Palmer had 25 for Hendricken. The tie left both squads with identical league records of 5-1-1, trailing both Mount Saint Charles and Moses Brown in Division I.

Mount Saint Charles vs Moses Brown (1/8):
With first place at stake in boys hockey, Mount Saint Charles pulled off a dramatic rally against Moses Brown to earn an overtime tie, preserving their undefeated record and control atop Division I. Michael Magerman tied the score 6-6 with 8 seconds remaining in the third period, completing the Mounties comeback, after they trailed 6-3 with just five minutes left to play. Magerman’s back-to-back goals forced an overtime period which produced no goals, resulting in the first draw of the season for both first-place Mount Saint Charles (6-0-1) and second-place Moses Brown (6-1-1).
