Tessa
Age: Under 1 year old
Breed(s): Domestic Shorthair
Meet Tessa, a shy FIV+ girl whose under a year old. She was found as a stray in Dorchester, but this girl wasn't meant to live on the streets. She's sweet and gets along very well with her foster brother and sisters (cats and a dog). She needs a home whose patient and gives her time to come out of her shell. Tessa needs to go into a home with a friendly cat to help with her adjustment.
Bella
Age: 7 years old
Breed(s): American Staffordshire Terrier
Hi! My name is Bella! I am one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. I absolutely adore being with my people and will follow you all around the house just to be by your side- but I'm also independent enough to respect when you need your space. I am around 7 years old but you would never know it by the way I play! I LOVE toys. I'm really the best mix of personality you could ask for- energetic and fun outside and snuggly and calm indoors. I am totally housetrained, and rarely bark.

Althea
Age: Adult
Breed(s): Domestic Shorthair
Meet Althea, she's new to Broken Trail. She may have just joined the crew, but one thing is certain: she loves feathers. She can be a little at first but bring her a little feather toy and she'll entertain you for hours. Would you like to let Althea entertain you?
Serena
Age: 1 to 2 years old
Breed(s): Terrier & Chihuahua Mix
Meet Serena! She is a beautiful tan colored mixed breed dog. She could possibly be a Terrier or a Terrier Chihuahua mix. She is 1-2 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. Serena was extremely nervous at the shelter and didn't make many friends. After only a day in her foster home she is seeking out attention from her foster mom, climbing in her lap and asking for pets. Serena is a dog who will need some time to warm up to new people so we are looking for a patient adopter for her, and we would not suggest a family with small children for her. She is completely housetrained! Serena loves to be loved!
Yogi
Age: 3 years old
Breed(s): Domestic Longhair
Meet Yogi, a 3-year-old gorgeous brown long-haired male with a fluffy "blonde"tail. (Better photos coming soon). He has a very lovable personality, and is absolutely glued to his foster mom. Yogi has tested positive for FIV. FIV cats may live a normal lifespan, provided they are kept indoors. FIV is not transmittable to people or dogs, and is not easily transmitted to other cats. Yogi is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines.
Violet
Age: 6 years old
Breed(s): American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix
Meet Violet, a beautiful, loving girl who is a little shy at first, but loves to play catch and give kisses once she warms up to you. She loves people and children but does not do so well with other dogs or cats. Violet is well trained in the house and can be left to roam without a crate! Her foster dad describes her as independent, low key, and low energy. Violet would be a great choice for first-time dog owners or families.

Barney
Age: 7 to 8 years old
Breed(s): Domestic Shorthair
Meet Barney, he's named after Fred Flintstone's friend, not the purple dinosaur. He was obviously someone's cherished pet at one point. He was trapped along with some feral cats, but the trappers called us when they realized that Barney was not feral, just another victim of a household pet being abandoned to the streets. He definitely enjoys being in a house again, and could care less about ever going outside. He prefers to be there waiting for you to come home so he can rub up against your pant legs and give you a proper welcome.

Chance
Age: 6 years old
Breed(s): Miniature Pinscher
Chance is a sweet 6.5 year old, 15 lb min pin who was found as a stray in central MA. Chance is an incredibly sweet dog who would do just fine in a home with other dogs, cats and/or kids. Chance does great in a crate and he is also housetrained. Chance's bloodwork shows that he is diabetic but we have started him on insulin and he seems to be doing well. His untreated diabetes caused him to go blind as well. He has a good amount of energy and also enjoys lying in the sun. Chance loves to go for walks and he quickly learns stairs.

Snickers
Age: Older Kitten
Breed(s): Domestic Shorthair
Meet Snickers, he's a shy, older kitten. He did not get enough attention when he was tiny, so it takes him a while to warm up to humans. He needs an experienced cat adopter or someone really patient and committed to helping him learn to trust his new people. Snickers' new home should have another playful kitty to show him the ropes and to let him know it's okay to be a crazy kitty boy.

Callie
Age: 8 to 10 years old
Breed(s): Black Labrador Retriever Mix
Hi! My name is Callie and I am a 50lb black lab mix. I am young at heart, but the vet thinks I am between 8 and 10. My fur may be graying, but it's like the saying goes: you are only as young as you feel! I have lots of energy to do all sorts of fun things with you and I love EVERYTHING. Need to get outside for some exercise? I love to go for walks or hikes! Wanna stay inside? I love to play with my toys or cuddle with you after a long day! Need a traveling companion? Car rides are my favorite! I also enjoy just relaxing in my bed.
