Yeti
Age: Young
Breed(s): Maltese/Poodle
Hello there, I'm Yeti! I am a two-year-old tail-chasing ball of fluff and personality! I love to run around and play. I am great at the dog park and get along with all dogs, big and small. I love to snuggle and be petted but sometimes I can be a little fussy, so please be patient with me! I need a human companion who can take charge and give me the boundaries and structure that I need. I am looking for an adult-only home, as I am little and fragile and I like to be the center of attention. I would love to live with other dogs though! If you show me who is in charge in a loving and gentle way, I will be your devoted friend.
Henry
Age: Adult
Breed(s): Chihuahua mix
Meet Henry! Henry is a Chihuahua weighing in at 10lbs, who is 10 years young. All that Henry really wants are people to call his own and a warm bed or lap to snuggle on. He is a calm, friendly guy who bonds quickly, and whole heartedly loves anyone who gives him some attention. Don't let his age fool you though, Henry is full of life! He can keep up on long walks, trips to the park, and other activities that younger dogs enjoy. Henry is also fully vaccinated, neutered, and in great health.
Henry is a quiet guy, so he would be ideal for apartment living. He adjusted to the sights and sounds of city living quickly, so he could live just about anywhere. He loves to tag along for errands, rides well in the car, and walks nicely on a leash. Henry has no problem being handled, which is great because he looks pretty darn cute in dog clothes! He is housetrained, and is fine taking bathroom trips in the morning, after a work day, and before bed.
More photos and videos of Henry can be seen here, and find him here!
Morrigan
Age: Adult
Breed(s): Dilute Tortoiseshell
When Morrigan came to Broken Tail as a rescue from Animal Control, she was left in a carrier behind a dumpster. She must have been abandoned and extremely traumatized, because she's a little fiesty. With time and patience, she has settled into her foster home nicely. However, she would be best as an only cat and needs an experienced cat whisperer.
Rosie
Age: Young
Breed(s): American Pit Bull Terrier mix
Hi, I'm Rosie! I am between 1 and 2 years old and I weigh about 45 lbs. I am really affectionate and love to cuddle. I enjoy being outside but only to use the bathroom (which I'm working on), because I don’t like to be apart from my person if they're home. I am content with sniffing around, doing my business, and going back in where it is warm. If you have to leave, I will wait nicely in my crate.
I am on the shy side and take a little while to warm up to strangers. I enjoy going for walks, and I'm getting better at not pulling so much. I do great with a harness.
Shadow
Age: Senior
Breed(s): Domestic Short Hair
This poor guy was found outside alone in the cold, in a bad neighborhood where the cats are relentlessly chased by dogs. His front paws are painful from a declawing in addition to an earlier injury that didn't heal correctly, but he is now able to climb a cat tree so he can lounge in the window and watch the birds, which he loves to do. He gives a soft little trill and chirp when he sees you, but is otherwise not a very vocal cat. Broken Tail's vet estimates that Shadow is at least 14 years old, so he is looking for a quiet retirement home. He is very anxious with other cats, so he'd most likely be happier being your one and only.
Despite being a senior, Shadow has all his teeth and has no special dietary needs other than eating only canned food. He has all his teeth, but dry food (and too many treats) bind him up, so we limit the dry food and treats to just a few kibbles daily.
Shoshanna
Age: Adult
Breed(s): Pomeranian/Dachshund mix
Hi, I'm Shosh! I am a gentle, affectionate girl. I'm great company and I'm friends with everyone...dogs, cats, kids—I'm ready to be their buddy! The rest of the time around the house, I love to snooze on a comfy doggie bed.
I didn't have the best of luck before I came to Broken Tail. I wandered as a stray until some nice people found me. My owners never came for me, and then the vet broke the bad news—I had cancer. But now my luck's getting so much better. I will be having some of the tumors removed, the vet says my prognosis is good, and I probably have at least two happy years ahead of me. I can get a lot of snuggling and napping and belly rubs in in that time—so now all I need is a loving home!
Buddy
Age: Young
Breed(s): American Shorthair & Domestic Short Hair mix
Buddy is approximately 2 years old, and when you pat him, you notice right away how soft his fur is. Buddy lost his home along with the other cats in his house when his previous owners moved and left them all behind. A neighbor was feeding him and wanted to keep him, but they already had too many cats. They bought him a nice fluffy bed to keep warm in, and that goes with him to his new home. He is a sweet guy who lives up to his name. He is not shy, but he can be a little unsure at first in new situations. However, he comes right out to investigate after a minute or two.
Evie
Age: Adult
Breed(s): Boxer
Meet Evie! Evie is a very sweet Boxer who was found as a stray. She obviously had a home at some point—she is house trained and knows to "sit" and "lay down" on command. Her face is very gray, and a vet estimated her to be around 10 years old, but she acts like a much younger dog! She came to the rescue as a little peanut of a boxer, but she has gained nearly 8 pounds over the past month in her foster home and has filled out nicely.
Evie is great with people. She loves hanging out with children and adults! She enjoys car rides and absolutely loves going for walks. She will be a great dog for a family or for single person. She appears to be picky in choosing her dog friends, but she does seem to get along best with more submissive pups. She is great with cats and will leave them alone for the most part. On occasion, she can't resist the urge to chase one of her kitty foster siblings, but it is all done in play.
Yogi
Age: Adult
Breed(s): Domestic Long Hair
Yogi is a gorgeous, 3-year-old fluffy tailed male sprinkled with copper highlights. Even his whiskers are chocolate brown! He has a very lovable personality, and is glued to his foster mom.
Yogi is neutered, microchipped, receives a monthly flea preventative and is up to date on his vaccines. He has has tested positive for FIV. FIV cats like Yogi who show no symptoms may live a normal lifespan, provided they are kept indoors. FIV is absolutely not transmittable to people or dogs, and is not easily transmitted to other cats.
