Bert
I'm Bert!! I'm a smart, silly, adorable kitten who likes to spend my days playing with my sister Shirley! We would like to go home together. Two kittens are twice as cute, remember! We have been handled by humans since early in our lives, so we are very cuddly when we are not running around causing a ruckus. We love playing more than anything, except maybe eating. I especially like be picked up and cuddled and will reward you with very enthusiastic purring. We would do well in almost any active family situation since we are high-energy, courageous, and well-adjusted. Oh, did we mention that we are really adorable??

Goofy
My name is Goofy and I'm a sweet, medium-haired little boy! I'm definitely the black sheep of the little litter, with frosted medium-length fur - I've been told like I look like I just came out of the dryer. I was pretty shy when I first got to my foster parents', but I'm getting more friendly and social by the day. I really like playing with my siblings, and would prefer going home with one of my siblings or into a home with another cat - I don't know how I would react around dogs, but I get along with other adult cats just fine.

Buddy Bear
Buddy Bear is a six year old grey, long-haired fellow. He's a big boy that just wants someone to love and snuggle him! He loves a good belly rub and lavishes in his owner's attention. He will purr all day with just a simple pat on the head. He lived in his previous home with Angel, Faith, and Hope (other adoptable kitties in the adoption center), so we know he does well with other cats. He also gets along with kids. He's currently living with a foster "bunny" brother and has been getting along with him very well. They even remain free sharing the same space while the foster parents are at work. He's potty trained and has a calm and peaceful temperament. His new owner will need to brace for a lot of affection!

Violet
Hi, I’m Violet! I am a sweet old chihuahua who could use some help. I was found as a stray with heart issues, itchy skin, and not one but two tick-borne diseases. :-( Honestly, I’m not even sure how a classy lady like myself got into this state! Thank goodness I found my way to the good folks at BTR. My Lyme and my skin problems are being treated, I’ve been scheduled for an echocardiagram, and they’re even going to get my teeth seen to. I don’t know if they’ll be able to fix everything, but it’s so nice to know that people finally care! There is a fundraiser if you’d like to help with my medical expenses: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-sweet-violet/213892. What else can I tell you about myself? I’m around 12 years old, I get along well with other dogs, and I like to sleep a lot. That photo certainly caught me at an interesting angle. I was just stretching.

Maddie
We just took Maddie in— what a sweetheart! She loves EVERYONE— the vet at the shelter, her transport volunteer, some random guy in a truck in the parking lot, and the guy jaywalking in traffic all got a big pittie smile and a standing ovation from her tail. Maddie knows "sit" and hopped right in the car like it was old hat to her. She’s very strong and quite enthusiastic about exploring the world, but with some consistency she will learn to remember that there’s a human behind her on that leash.

Skippy
Skippy is a sweet, calm, eight year old mixed breed who is great with other dogs. He loves shredding squeaky toys and playing tug, and taps you with his paw when he wants attention. He also likes his back scratched and will back up to you to get it done. Skippy came to us with a heart murmur and we've had an echocardiogram done, which we can go over with you. He can’t exercise too much, but otherwise the murmur isn't bothering him, and he doesn't need any medication now. He might in the future, and because of this, we've reduced his adoption fee. This happy little guy is looking for a forever home with extra fluffy dog beds and lots of squeaky toys, scritches, and love. He'd be happy with another dog to pal around with as well as with just people to love.

Tarzan
Hello, I'm Tarzan I'm a handsome 3 year old boy looking for my forever family. I am fully house and crate trained and am highly ball motivated. I love balls of all varieties: tennis, rubber, squeaky. If you can throw it, I'll play fetch for hours! For a cookie, I will gladly show you how nicely I can sit as well as the other commands that I am still working on (like down, stay, heel, come, and wait). I have always been well-behaved in the car. In fact, if you look into the back you might see me practicing my surfing skills...even when the roads are rough, I can maintain my balance on all fours while I watch the scenery go by. Right now, my favorite destinations are the local parks, where I can meet up with my doggie friends Off-leash, I love running and playing with other dogs. I'm a gentle giant who willingly shares toys and lets small dogs and puppies call the shots....which make me a popular play buddy! At home, I settle down quickly. I always enjoy playing with my people, but when they're busy I am a self-sufficient guy and can be content entertaining myself. Usually, I'll toss my toys around for a while, stretch out in some funny positions (doggie yoga), and then eventually curl up in one of my beds for a good long nap. My life has gotten so much better these past few months, but I still experience some anxiety when walking on leash in busy areas. Luckily, my foster mom recognized that this type of fearful reactivity is common for a former stray and she reached out to a behaviorist who is helping me learn to self-soothe, draw comfort and confidence from the human-dog relationship, and direct my energy towards safe, productive behaviors.
