Buzz

Meet Buzz, the cutest orange boy. He is approximately 6-7 months old and was found with Mitzi living under a porch. Since nobody was feeding them, the group that trapped them could not put them back outside, so they called us. Although Buzz and Mitzi are not brother and sister, they do enjoy each other's company and, if possible, we would like to see them adopted together.

Buzz is at that tall, lanky "teenage" stage. Because he did not get enough attention as a kitten, it takes him a while to warm up to people. Buzz has made great strides in his foster home. He will take Pounce treats right from your hand, and come back for more. The biggest motivator for Buzz is food! He loves both wet and dry food - and lots of it.

Mitzi

Meet Mitzi, a sweet little tiger girl. She is approximately 5-6 months old and was found living under a porch with Buzz. Although still a bit fearful of being touched, Mitzi can be pet to the extent that she will lift her chin to be rubbed and purr while you do it. Also, she will take Pounce treats right from your hand. They are friendly with other cats and would definitely benefit from living with a friendly kitten or young, playful adult cat. Laser light is their favorite exercise - they do engage with other toys, but not to a great extent (no toys living outside!)

Tessa

Tessa is becoming downright demanding of attention from her foster Mama. She loves pets and will follow her foster Mama around. She is also fascinated by the dog who lives in the home and keeps trying to become friends with her! She gets along so well with all the cats and dogs in the home. She just needs someone to give her a little time to come out of her shell in her new home, and she will make the best of companions. Tessa needs to go into a home with a friendly cat to help with her adjustment.

Loki

Loki is a lovable ball of fur, looking for his forever home. His day consists of cuddles and cat naps. He gets along great with my son and they play together most of the day. Everyone loves his chubby face and I have to admit that's my favorite part of him. Meet Loki and you're sure to fall in love. Loki is FIV+

Toby

Toby is a handsome, eight year old Maine Coon. He looks like a really big guy but he's really only around 13 pounds - the rest of him is fur!

He's an affectionate boy once he gets to know you but he can be a bit aloof with strangers. He is not wild about being picked up but he just loves being brushed!

Callie

Meet Callie! Callie is a 50lb black lab mix that is between 8 and 10 years old. Although this sweet girl is looking for her retirement home, she still has plenty of pep in her step. Callie has had a tough past, but is putting it behind her. She is very motivated to please her people and works hard on her training. Since coming to stay with me she has learned "sit", "stay", how to walk nicely on a leash and has even learned to ring a bell to let you know when she has to go outside. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Blackjack

Hi everyone! I'm JACK , a 2 year old chihuahua mix with a cool black coat that looks brindled when the sun hits it. I don't want to brag, but people tell me I'm a pretty awesome little pup. I am completely housebroken and crate trained- no accidents for me! I love running around and playing silly dog games with my foster buddies. I have also been perfecting my fetch skills and I am kind of a pro now! I am not just all about action though- I also appreciate quiet time relaxing on the couch, chewing my toys and amusing myself. Did I mention I really LOVE my people? I especially love to snuggle with my foster Moms 13 year old daughter, who lets me sleep with her every night.

Rizzo

Introducing Rizzo! Rizzo is new to Broken Tail Rescue... coming to us after being found on the streets and never being claimed at the shelter. He is proving to be a GREAT all around dog! His only limitation is that he does not like to be picked up.

Rizzo is a friendly little guy that LOVES food! He loves dog food, cat food, treats, people food, scraps that fall off the counter... any food is alright by little Riz! After his exam, he followed the vet right into the kitchen and jumped right into the refrigerator for a closer inspection! We don't know what breed he is - obviously some terrier mix - but he definitely has some "lowrider" Dachshund traits as well! He is about 10 years old and 11 pounds.

Tully

Tully is just about the easiest dog ever! He gets along beautifully with people and other dogs, plus he likes cats! He is a master at reading cues from other dogs! He is a bit malnourished from living alone on the streets for a bit, but now that he is in a foster home, he will put on some much needed weight in no time. He has a great temperament, and will be happy to walk, hike, or run with you, but also will be just as happy to hang out on the couch.

Buzz is a friendly, gentle, and loving Chihuahua mix. He melts hearts wherever he goes with his wonderful temperament. Buzz came to Broken Tail as a stray, and has been loving life as a foster dog with regular meals and love. He weighs 8lbs and is estimated at 4 years old. Buzz has the great qualities of an adjusted adult dog, who is lively and playful outside but mostly mellow inside.
