Meet Dutchy! Dutchy is a super cute little chihuahua who weighs about 6 lbs. At 8 years old, Dutchy is missing a family of his own. He came in when his owner passed away and spent a few months in the shelter before going to Broken Tail Rescue.

Dutchy loves his walks and his house trained. He loves other dogs, but will occasionally lunge at cats to keep them on their toes. Dutchy needs some time to warm up to new people, but will warm up within a few hours. Still, Dutchy would best be suited for a quiet home without too many visitors or kids.

Dutchy loves to give kisses and will lick your hand for hours if you let him. He is skittish when having his leash put on. Overall he is a nervous guy with a lot of potential for love and companionship. He loves soft treats and is very food motivated.

Butterball

Butterball is right! This 20+ lb. boy is a huge bundle with a purr to match his size. He loves belly rubs and is looking for a family to love him and get him into shape—he's definitely overweight and should lose a few pounds to get down to a healthier size.

Mika

Breed(s): American Pit Bull Terrier/Hound Mix

Hi! My name is Mika and I am around 5 years old. I'm smaller than I look in pictures—only about 40 pounds, and I'm full grown! I have been waiting a LONG time for a forever home...I spent about 3 years in a shelter and the last six months in foster homes, but I want to meet the family that will keep me forever. I love people, and am really wonderful with kids! I don't really love other animals though, so I'm looking to be an only pet. I am fully housebroken, very polite, and great in my crate.

I am hoping you are someone who enjoys going for casual walks, car rides, and hanging out on the couch with your special dog friend. I love to roll in the grass and soak up the sun. And nothing is better than having my belly rubbed! I am looking for someone that enjoys what I do and will love me as much as I will love them. By the way, I am spayed, vet checked, vaccinated, de-wormed, flea treated, tested for heartworm disease and microchipped.

Serena

Meet Serena! Serena is a beautiful tan colored mixed-breed dog. She is 1-2 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. Serena is a dog who will need some time to warm up to new people, so a patient adopter without children will be best for her.

Serena is completely housetrained and has been learning a lot in her foster home. She has learned how to sit and also to fetch toys, although she is still working on dropping the toy for it to be thrown again. She is good in her crate and sleeps through the night without a peep. Serena LOVES to go for walks and gets so excited to see her leash. She is good with other dogs who are not too overbearing for her. Although she is nervous, she is curious about new surroundings and loves to explore. She has come a long way and is a super spunky loving little girl.

Polo

Polo is the name, chatting is his game. Polo is very vocal and doesn't mind being held. He also has striking eyes—one is bright blue and the other is yellow-green.

This guy has had it rough so far, living outside through hot summers and snowy, bitterly cold winters. But he's now happy to be inside and looking for a new lease on life!

Elvis

Elvis is a two-year-old hunk. He's excited to find his new family, and he would love to have a doggie brother or sister to play with. What he does not love, however, is getting into his crate, but he does just fine once he's in there.

Tiger

Tiger is a sweet, beautiful long-hair tabby who is probably fully grown but still quite small. She was recovered from a hoarder household and is taking some time to adjust. For now, she likes to stay in her "safety cave", although she has made an appearance outside of it to play with a laser pointer!

Amber

Breed(s): Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Amber is a super sweet brindle pit bull mix. We estimate her age to be between 1-2 years old, and her amber colored eyes will make you melt. Although she was found as a stray, her spirits are high and she has a great attitude! She is a ball of energy, super-exuberant and eager to please! She can be shy sometimes but absolutely adores people. She loves attention and will not stop until you notice and pet her. If she is not sticking her head out the window during car rides then she is busy giving you kisses.

She loves to be with you and will be by your side during every trip around the house. She is great with kids and will tolerate their tough love as long as she can return with licks and kisses, but loves chasing cats so it would be best if she was in a cat-free home. She will make a great companion as the only pet in the home or with another furry friend as long as there's proper introduction. Dog parks are a little too much for her at this point.

Gemma

Age: Young

Breed(s): Domestic Short Hair/Tortoiseshell mix

Gemma is a one-year-old sweet gal. With her silky soft fur and those gorgeous eyes, she'll make you fall in love with her instantly. Gemma unfortunately has FeLV (feline leukemia) which means she needs to be the only cat in the home (or live with other FeLV+ cats). However, leukemia doesn't stop her from being the most affectionate, lovable kitty around. According to her foster mom, she LOVES to play with just about any toy she has.
