Miss Kiss
Miss Kiss got her name because she just loves to give kisses. She is about 2 years old and weighs 8 lbs. Miss Kiss loves everyone! She is extremely friendly and a very happy little dog. She loves to snuggle and who wouldn't want to snuggle with her? Miss Kiss is good with other dogs but if they get in her face and bother her too much then she will surely let them know to back off but she does it in such a nice way. Miss Kiss is great with children and we have not yet tested her with cats. Miss Kiss walks great on a leash and she seems to be house trained. She is a very easy dog to have around. She rarely barks, is crate trained and is quiet in her crate, and loves to just hang out on the couch or sleep on a dog bed. She is also great in the car, usually just curling up and falling asleep. Are you looking for a new best friend? You may have found one in Miss Kiss!
J.J.
JJ is a two year old, 10lb, medium energy, playful Maltese. He's excellent with other dogs, good in his crate after he settles down, and will come when called in the house. So far he seems happy and loving with people he knows, but he barks at strangers on walks. He likes to spend his time rolling around on carpets (a new haircut feels good!) and snuggling with his foster mom on the couch. He loves to follow the resident dog around and try to get him to play, and he was even successful once which is quite the feat! We haven't had J.J. around kids much but we would recommend that he go to an adult only home. He needs to learn that he is not the boss! He has been extremely loving towards his foster mom and allowing all handling with her, but he prefers that other people don't handle him just yet.
Captain
Captain is a sweet one year young dog found as a stray in Western Mass. He loves to play with my dog (bounces like a Tigger!) and will keep up a game of chase but he is definitely the submissive when challenged. Captain likes to play with his toys and will chase a ball and bring it back to you so you will throw it for him again. Although it is hard to see in the photos the tip of his ears and tail have adorable long black tufts of fur. His ears are fine and silky and will definitely benefit from a weekly brushing. He is not excessively noisy but will “chuff” when he gets nervous meeting some new people.
Callie
Callie is a 50lb black lab mix that is between 8 and 10. Although this sweet girl is looking for her retirement home, she still has plenty of pep in her step. She is very motivated to please her people and works hard on her training. Since coming to stay with me she has learned "sit", "stay", how to walk nicely on a leash and has even learned to ring a bell to let you know when she has to go outside. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? She is a perfect passenger in a car and she loves to go for long walks or hikes She also enjoys playing with her toys, cuddling with her people and just relaxing in her bed. She would do best as an "only" and needs a family that will continue to work on her training. With a little patience and a lot of love Callie will easily overcome her tough past and become the perfect dog for one very lucky family.
Benji
My name is Benji and I am the softest cutest little dog ever! I weigh about 15 lbs and am four years old. My foster mom says that I could benefit from gaining some weight though. I love everyone but I especially love other dogs. I can't get enough of them! I would love to live in a home with a dog who wouldn't mind my constantly looking for them and following them around. I haven't been tested with cats but I would probably love them too. They think that I would be fine with children based on my temperament. My ideal home would have someone home most of the time, as I don't like to be left alone very much. I have had a few transitions recently including some time at the shelter, so after I am settled and know that I have a permanent home my anxieties about being along should subside. I wouldn't mind being left alone if I had a dog friend to keep me company! I am working on my house training so please be patient with me. My foster mom took me for a bike ride the other day and they neighbors that I was so funny! She has a leash that attaches to her bike and you would have thought that I was doing it all my life. I would love to go on hikes and adventures with you! I also walk very nicely on a leash.
Spencer
Spencer is a gorgeous 8 year old ginger gentleman. He's an absolute love of a cat, very affectionate and good natured. He enjoys laps and sitting on his foster mom's head. He has a lot of dignity except when he displays his vast tummy to the world. He gets on well with the dog in his foster home. He'll make a wonderful family cat.
Spencer is diabetic. He came into the rescue weighting 22.6 lbs and required twice daily insulin shots. He has been on a strict high protein diet and now no longer requires insulin to control his diabetes. He needs occasional testing to be sure his glucose stays at an acceptable level. He's also lost weight - although he still needs to lose a few more pounds! He does not require special food - Fancy Feast Classic works very well for him - but the quantity is strictly controlled (and no treats!)
Hope
Hope is the sweetest gal around. She's just about 2 yrs old and has lived with other cats, kids and a small dog. Hope would literally love just about anyone and follow you around for attention. She's always trying to headbutt or rub on you while taking photos, they they don't show her true beauty. Come to the Adoption center and meet her for yourself, she won't disappoint!
