There is plenty going on in Worcester on this Weekend. Events include a blood drive at the DCU Center, the final weekend of Shrek at Hanover Theatre and the final weekend of the Shakespeare Festival.

Blood Drive at DCU Center

The DCU Center will host a community blood drive from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 19. 

The Worcester Railers mascot will make an appearance from 2 to 4 pm. and all donors will receive one voucher to Monster Jam at the DCU Center in January.

Worcester Shakespeare Festival 2016

Celebrate Shakespeare as the festival opens this weekend and runs through August 21 starting at 8 p.m. on  Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. This Sunday is the final day of the festival. 

Tickets and full performance calendar online at WorcesterShakespeareCompany.org or at the door. Adults $20, Seniors/Students $15, Children under 12 free. In case of inclement weather, the performance moves indoors.

Meow: A Cat Inspired Exhibition 

If you love cats, this is the exhibition for you. 

Meow includes an exhibition exploring the feline as an iconic element of art, a self-guided "cat walk" through the Museum, an interactive installation featuring live cats, a community art show, a naughty kitty take-over of Helmutt's House, a dog show curated by Helmutt, and special art classes.
