This weekend's events include Worcester's New Year's Eve celebration, a special comedy show by Dick Doherty and live music from the Flock of A-holes.

Civil War Movie Series: Little Women at Mechanics Hall 

Your movie ticket includes a brief historical tour of Mechanics Hall. The tour begins at 3:00 p.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes. 

The focus is on the March sisters, four young girls raised by their mother (Susan Sarandon) after their father leaves for battle as part of the Union Army.

The film spans years, following the girls' struggles with life's challenges and illustrating how their family connection remains strong in the face of tragedies large and small.

The event goes from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The City of Worcester will host a free New Year’s Eve celebration on the Worcester Common.

Live entertainment will be provided by the fire performers of Cirque de Light, Free Range Band, and Worcester Music Academy. A pyrotechnics display will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the Church Street side of the Common.

The event goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
