Goat Yoga is coming to Worcester Common

There is plenty going on around Worcester to keep you busy this weekend. From concerts to festivals, there are events for all ages. 

This weekend’s events include the Worcester Youth Summer Concert, Free Fun Friday at the Museum of Russian Icons, live music and more.

Worcester Youth Summer Concert at Worcester PopUp Building 

Come out to listen to local, young talent at the new Worcester PopUp building! Youth musicians ages 10-18 will be performing solos, duos, and ensembles in various genres.

Proceeds from the event will go toward local nonprofit organization, "Main IDEA," to help provide arts programs for under-resourced youth in Worcester.

Tickets: $10 (ALL non-performers), purchased at the door.

Free Fun Friday at the Museum of Russian Icons

The Museum will open an hour early, at 10 a.m., on this special day.

We’ll have docent-led tours, crafts and Russian games, a sale in the Museum Store, Russian snacks for sale, and tons of fun!

Bravehearts vs Martha's Vineyard Sharks at Fitton Field 

The Worcester Bravehearts are back at Fitton Field to host the first place Martha's Vineyard Sharks on Friday night. 

The Bravehearts are currently in second with a record of 29-16, while the Sharks are 30-13 overall.

Fourth Saturday Open Mic featuring John Gaumond at Barnes & Noble 

This month John Gaumond will be the feature. Gaumond, of Worcester, is a photographer and poet.

He received The Jacob Knight Poetry Award in 2006.

After the featured poet reads the gathered poetry lovers adjourn to the in-store coffee shop and chat about whatever comes up

The History and People Behind the Grand Architecture of Lincoln Square

The Worcester Memorial Auditorium, the old Worcester County Court  House, and the First Unitarian and Wesley Methodist churches form an imposing gateway to the city along the west side of Lincoln Square and North Main Street.  Take a close-up look at these buildings and learn about their history. 

Discover how this section of Worcester has changed over time and find out about important events that took place here and hear about people who populated these buildings.

Attendees are asked to meet at the Old Worcester County Court House.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore Grand Opening 

Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester ReStore is set to host the grand reopening of its Worcester location.

he ReStore is a retail outlet open to the public that sells quality, new and gently-used, surplus construction and home improvement materials as well as home furnishings for a fraction of regular retail prices.

The ReStore provides an environmentally and socially responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of the waste stream all while helping to make the dream of homeownership a reality for low-income families in the MetroWest and Greater Worcester areas. Items at the ReStore are donated by local retailers, contractors, and individuals within the community.

The event will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
