Veterans Inc. 12th Annual Stand Down

Veterans Inc. will host their 12th annual Stand Down at their headquarters on Grove Street. 

The event goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is FREE for veterans. 

The Stand Down includes free items such as clothing, legal services, housing services and much more.

Glassblowing Cups at New Street Glass Studio 

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own cup from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

Students will choose their own colors and instructors will guide the class through the steps from gathering to blowing up the bubble and shaping a cylinder to create each unique and colorful cup. No experience is necessary; all materials are included.

The new Friday Farmer's Market at Worcester Common is set to open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Products at the market include Stillman Quality Meats, LLC-Meat & poultry, eggs, meat pies, stock, and sauce, bone broth, and cut flowers, Douglas Orchard & Farm-produce, fruit, honey, creamed honey, eggs, beeswax candles, artisan soaps, and more.

Eruption - Tribute to Van Halen at The Cove

A must see for Van Halen fans. 

Eruption will be rocking out at the Cove on Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. 

"All of us are die hard Van Halen fanatics and love the power of what Van Halen brought to the world from 1978-1984. That raw hard-driving party rock music you had in your car cruising around when you are in High School.

We try and capture that raw power and chemistry from Eddie, Alex, Mike and Dave. I think we captured that," the group says on their Facebook page.

Helmutt on the Move at Worcester Art Museum  

Helmutt is an armor-wearing boar hound statue; his armor is based on the plate dog armor of a hunting hound of Emperor Charles V. Leonard Heinrich, who was the armorer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, made Helmutts armor as a gift to John Woodman Higgins in 1942.

The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
