It is Mother's Day weekend and there are plenty of great events to bring mom and the entire family to in Worcester this weekend.

Make Your Own Sangria Pitcher at New Street Glass Studio

After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own sangria pitcher from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

Instructors will guide students through the steps from gathering to blowing the bubble, from shaping the pitcher to adding a handle and spout. No experience is necessary and all materials are included.

The class goes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

17th Annual ArtsWorcester Biennial 

Check out the great art at the 17th annual ArtsWorcester Biennial.

This year, the Sally R. Bishop Prize for Best In Show was given to James Dye of Worcester, for his dip pen and india ink drawing Temple of the Unburdened Host. 

As part of this prize, Dye will have a solo exhibition at the Worcester Art Museum in April of 2018. 

Gallery hours for the Seventeenth Biennial run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 12:00 to 4:00 PM, and by appointment, through June 2.

Grafton Senior Center Yard Sale

The Grafton Senior Center will hold a yard sale titled “Treasures in the Trunk” in the Grafton High School parking lot. 

The yard sale, which is being put together by the Friends of Grafton Elders, will take place on Saturday, May 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

For those interested in being a vendor, set up will take place at 8 a.m. and take down will be at the end of the sale. Spaces are $25 each.

Mother's Day Buffet at Tower Hill Botanic Garden 

What better way to spend Mother's Day than at Tower Hill Botanic Garden enjoying great food. 

The buffet will feature locally grown and seasonal produce, grains, cheeses, poultry, seafood, and meats.

Tower Hill will also offer a selection of salads, baked goods, entrees and desserts. Included will be items that are dairy, nut, gluten and animal protein free.
