Glassblowing Flowers for Mom

Get a head start on Mother's Day gifts by going to the New Street Glass Studio and designing flowers. 

 After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own floppy bowl from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace.

Students will be guided through the steps of applying colors of their choosing, to creating a unique flower top, to applying and pulling a stem.

2017 Court Hill Classical Music Festival at First Unitarian Church 

The Court Hill Classical Music Festival at First Unitarian Church presents seven difference classical concerts during the 10 day festival. 

The opening concert is 5/5 by the Honors Chamber groups of the Worcester Youth Orchestra.

5/7 Paul Winter Consort's Missa Gaia (Earth Mass);

Helmutt on the Move at Worcester Art Museum  

Helmutt is an armor-wearing boar hound statue; his armor is based on the plate dog armor of a hunting hound of Emperor Charles V. Leonard Heinrich, who was the armorer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, made Helmutts armor as a gift to John Woodman Higgins in 1942.

The exhibit is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pottery Invitational at Worcester Center for Crafts

The Worcester Center for Crafts Krikorian Gallery's Pottery Invitational will feature work by 20 artists and one working team.

Darlene Love at Hanover Theatre 

One of the greatest singers of all-time, Darlene Love, is coming to Hanover Theatre this weekend. 

The concert will go from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Love is featured in the Academy Award-winning documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom.

Since the early 60s, she has done everything from recording chart-topping hits like "Hes A Rebel" to lending her voice to Broadway musicals like Hairspray and Grease.

In 2011, she was awarded the highest musical honor when she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
