Morning of Smiles at Worcester Historical Museum
Worcester Reads will host a Morning of Smiles at the Worcester Historical Museum from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on October 7, World Smile Day.
During the event, the museum will offer complimentary entrance to families when accompanied by a child. Children are admitted free.
A special children's program will start at 10:30 a.m. and will include a children's book reading and book giveaway. Children can make their own smile buttons, smile puppets and draw a picture of what makes them smile about Worcester.

Make Your Own Sangria Pitcher at New Street Glass Studio
In just one night, participants will learn about the history and process behind creating blown glass at the New Street Glass Studio.
After learning the safety and studio etiquette rules, participants will watch a brief demonstration of this 2000-year-old art before diving in and making their very own sangria pitcher from glass gathered out of a 2100-degree furnace. Instructors will guide participants through the steps from gathering to blowing the bubble, from shaping the pitcher to adding a handle and spout.
The class goes from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m

Fruitlands Museum Annual Harvest Festival
Fruitlands Museum's annual Harvest Festival begins on Saturday and is free with museum admission.
During the festival, participants will have the opportunity to learn about Native American gardening and how local Native peoples prepared for the winter long ago.
The festival will show examples of livestock being raised in local farms as well as being able to find free food sources.

Fall Fest at Tower Hill Botanic Garden
Theres nothing better than autumn in New England, and theres no better place than Tower Hill Botanic Garden to take in all the season has to offer. In addition to the panoramic view of Mt. Wachusett and the Reservoir, the Garden displays hundreds of trees and shrubs known for their spectacular fall color.
Fall Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Dig In: A Field-to-Table Festival at Old Sturbridge Festival
Old Sturbridge Village will celebrate the Harvest with the Dig-In: A Field-to-Table Festival taking place from October 8 to the 10.
Guests of the festival will help farmers with the harvest, meet heritage breed animals, including sheep, oxen and calves, learn how food is harvested, prepared, and served at the table.
Guest farmers from the area will demonstrate well known New England recipes and much more.
