The show 12 Angry Jurors, a play based on 12 Angry Men by Reginald Rose, will spend 11 days at Hanover Theatre in mid-March.
This production will open at the new McDonough space, and invite a local school for a matinee performance March 15.
All other performances will be open to the public that night through Sunday, March 26.
12 Angry Jurors
This gender-neutral production will be directed by Kelly Morgan, former director at Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago and founder of the Mint Theater in New York City.
A Professor of Theater at Fitchburg State University, Kelly has directed a number of productions and fostered the talents of numerous students.
This American court room drama is filled with intensity and a natural attraction for Legal and Educational advocates.
The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Hispanic man is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open-and-shut case soon becomes a story that presents a succession of clues creating doubt, and a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, immigration, the criminal justice system, the accused, and each other.
The cast employs the talents of SAG Award winner *Gary Galone (Spotlight), *Bruce- Robert Serafin (Surrogates) and *Ann Marie Shea known for her notable roles in the Greater Boston area. The production will work in association with Fitchburg State University from set design and build, to marketing. and stage management.12 Angry Jurors examines the importance of how our current justice system is run, while being wrought with intense drama that is so admired by our loyal fans. It will have you question why history continues to repeat itself and how we can make a better effort to learn from it.
