How the Grinch Stole Christmas at PPAC

Friday-Sunday  What a perfect weekend to enjoy the iconic holiday sourpuss in his own musical. Who doesn't love the Whos down in Whoville, anywho? It's wonderful fun for the whole family. Plus, there's kids night pricing through November 18. Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical through Nov 20, Providence Performing Arts Center, 220 Weybosset St, Providence. Sunday  This is one of the hippest gift events going, and due to popular demand, Craftopia is returning to Hope Artiste Village for two events, the first which is this weekend. The unique work of 65 artisans celebrates all thing local and handmade. Friday-Saturday  A perfect weekend of dance from one of RI's most interesting, high-energy companies that features three premieres and an audience favorite. Perfect for dance aficianados and novices alike. If you haven't seen the Unwrapped concert (on Saturday), don't miss it: it's a behind-the-scenes look at how a dance perfomance comes together, from choreography to costumes. Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes in Cranston

Friday  Talk about the Jersey Shore? These guys are the real deal. Scenes From the Polar Express at the Children's Museum

Friday  This is a great free event for families as part of the Children's Museum "MetLife Family Friday - Free at Five!" program, sponsored by MetLife Foundation. See young dancers from JUMP! Dance Company perform scenes from Chris Van Allsburg's award-winning holiday tale, The Polar Express. The museum is open for free from 5-8pm, performance is at 6pm. Recommended for ages 3 and up.
