ArtsWorcester Receives $7,500 Donation From Anonymous Benefactor

Thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous benefactor, ArtsWorcester was able to award grants totaling $5,000 to aid the creation of new art in 2013. The same donor has increased his gift amount, allowing for the organization to grant $7,500 to Worcester artists for 2014.

These competitive grants, which range from $500 to $1,500 are purposed for the expenses related to the development and creation of new art projects. Proposals  for all forms of viusal art will be considered for approval. The criterea for selection is based on the proposed projects potential impact, its novelty, and feasibility.  The funds are intended for material costs, supplies, and equipment; but do not cover secondary expenses such as studio rental or publicity. 

ArtsWorcester, founded in 1979, is an organization that promotes local contemporary artists in the Worcester area. They put on many openings and exhibits at several locations, which are always free to the public. 

Grant applications are open to all ArtsWorcester members who reside in Worcester County. This recipients of this year's grants will be decided by the end of February 2014 for those who apply by midnight on December 13th.
