Becker College Elects Two New Members to Board of Trustees

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

Christine Cassidy and Cheryl Lapriore have been announced as the two newest additions to Becker College's board of trustees.

“Christine Cassidy and Cheryl Lapriore are respected leaders in the Worcester community and their work has helped expand opportunities for many,” said Robert E. Johnson, Ph.D., president of Becker College. “I look forward to working with them as members of our dynamic Board of Trustees to launch new initiatives that will not only benefit students at Becker College, but communities near and far as well.”

Cassidy serves as senior vice president and Chief Communications Officer at Fallon Community Health Plan.  She is also on the organization's Community Relations and Community Benefits Grant committees. Cassidy previously served as editor of The Lancaster Timesand North County Family & Health, and also worked with the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.  She enjoys giving back to the community, working closely with both the United Way of Central MA's Women's Initiative and the Girl Scouts of Central and Western MA.

Lapriore, meanwhile, is UMass Memorial Health Care's senior vice president, chief of staff, and chief marketing officer.  She is also the president of UMass Memorial Health Ventures.  Before joining the MMMHC team, Lapriore held executive positions with The Hanover Insurance Group and its Foundation, as well as with Allmerica Financial Life Insurance and Annuity Company.  In her spare time she aids numerous community organizations such as the Women's Initiative of the United Way of Central MA and the Central MA Housing Alliance.
